The Camera Equipment I Travel With
SO! I’ve been getting tons of questions this trip about what camera equipment I travel with. I thought it would be easiest for everyone to put alllll the info in one place! This is the list of equipment I travel with when traveling and creating content for work. When I am traveling and creating content for fun and personal use, I travel with a Sony a6000. It’s compact, you can fit it in your purse and it’s easy to use so whoever you’re with can easily snap a pic for you with much less instruction than a DSLR. Of course, I always travel with and use an iPhone as well. It’s an amazing tool to have and you can create pretty bomb photos with one. Plus, it’s great to grab video snippets and of course, create IG stories and behind the scenes content.
Here is an example of an iPhone shot vs. a DSLR shot!
If you’re interested in buying a DSLR, I highly recommend taking some classes and really learning to use it. Practice the same way you would when learning a new instrument. Nobody is an expert day one. Remember, a camera doesn’t make the photographer. One of my favorite quotes is by Sam Haskins. He said: “A photographer went to a socialite party in New York. As he entered the front door, the chef said ‘I love your pictures – they’re wonderful; you must have a fantastic camera.’ He said nothing until dinner was finished, when leaving he then said: ‘That was a wonderful dinner; you must have a terrific Stove.'”
Take the time to learn whatever craft it is you want to master and equip yourself with the proper tools to do so! This is the equipment I’m currently using to create the content you see on instagram every day! If you have any questions, as always… slide into those DM’s!
