My Staycation at The Peninsula
Recently I had the awesome opportunity for a girls night staycation at the gorgeous, Peninsula Hotel in downtown Chicago. There was no detail left behind... from the room, to the food to how kind and accommodating they were to Obi, it was a total blast! Read about everything and see pictures of the amazing room, the delicious food, lots of cute Obi pics (obviously) and all of the gorgeous clothes I wore from Sandro!
The Room
The room was perfection! An awesome sitting area, the comfiest king bed ever, beautiful art work, a great view of the city a huge tub and every fashion girls dream closet. Can I sleep in that bed every night!?
The Pet Friendly Accommodations
I knew things were going to be great at The Peninsula but "pet friendly" is a huge understatement. They rolled out the red carpet for Obi. I'm not sure who loved it more, him or me... From the velvet dog bed perfectly sized for Obi to the hand painted food and water bowls and the doggy room service menu. After a little less than 24 hours the entire staff knew his name. It was so cute. We went out for a morning walk and everyone said: "good morning, Obi", "how are you, Obi"? He loved all of the attention. The only thing I'm a little worried about is after 1 night at The Peninsula Obi might expect chicken delivered on a platter every day...
The Pool & Gym
Not sure if you've ever dreamed your swimming laps... I haven't, but if I did I hope the pool would look like this! We spent some time at the gorgeous pool relaxing and drinking smoothies and visited the gym. I'm hoping to make it back for morning yoga one of these days! I wore THIS super cute swim cover up from Sandro with THIS one piece from Alix.
The Dinner
We started with drinks and dim sum at Shanghai Terrace. If you know me, you know that dim sum is one of my favorite things on the planet. This wasn't any ordinary dim sum... can you say... lobster truffle? After dim sum and cocktails we went to the restaurant in the lobby for an unbelievable dinner. For dinner I wore THIS feminine frock from Sandro and edged it up a little with a studded belt and black pump. They started us off with some super bubbly, amazing champagne followed by the meal of a lifetime. No lie, I had to loosen my belt 3/4 of the way through the meal. There really are no words to describe the amazing meal they served us. All of the food looked like art and tasted like heaven. I think the dim sum, salmon and whitefish were my favorites.
The Breakfast
For the last hoorah at The Peninsula they brought us an amazing breakfast spread! Fresh fruit, frittatas, eggs benedict, granola, french toast, fresh squeezed OJ, lots of coffee and of course, a delivery of chicken and rice for the Obs! THIS silk PJ set from Sandro was so perfect for a girls staycation and made me feel so luxe and comfy! I can't decide if dinner or breakfast was better... One tip, breakfast in bed at The Peninsula is a MUST.
A huge THANK YOU to The Peninsula Chicago and their whole team for the most wonderful staycation. Your kindness and hospitality were unbeatable.
