A Garden Party In The City
I am always looking for new girls night ideas, and after this drearily long winter in Chicago, I wanted to think of something that we could do outside to celebrate the coming warmth! Green spaces can be far and few between in this big city, so why not bring a little greenery to our urban oasis’s?! I decided the perfect girls night sounded like florals and rose! I had two good friends over for what we called; a “potting party” to plant some blooms! Floral attire was not required, but encouraged. Totally kidding- but it did look cute (laughing emoji)! We used petunias from Wave to build our little planters! They are colorful, hearty and add life to any space! I also planted petunias from Wave on my balcony last Summer and they made it through the whole season! With my lack of a green thumb… anyone can keep them alive! It was definitely time to spice up my balcony again (after a Winter that felt like eternity) and this pop of color was the perfect place to start!
The girls and I poured a little Rosé (the official drink of girls night of course) and got to potting! All we needed was a little dirt, some pots (find containers with drainage holes!) and our gorgeous already-in-bloom petunias! From an urban balcony, like mine, to gardens and porches, Wave Petunias’ bold colors are a simple way to brighten up any space! I was able to find everything I needed (including the petunias from Wave) at Home Depot. It cost me under $50 and the best part was that everyone had their own little take-home gift at the end of the evening!
Cheers to summer finally arriving and hopefully staying here!
