A Girls Day In Denver

girls-day

A couple weeks ago on a trip to Denver, I had an awesome day in the City with my girls, Abby and Lacey. I met these two lovelies (Abby of Denver Darling and Lacey of My Boring Closet) in March on a blogger trip to Mexico! We immediately hit it off and have stayed in close touch ever since. As luck may have it, I've been traveling back and forth to Denver quite often recently so I've been able to see Abby and Lacey! A few weeks ago, we spent the day exploring the city and they introduced me to a few of their favorite downtown Denver spots!  You guys... I have always loved Denver but after this day and spending more time there recently, I can't say enough good things!

Here is what we did for our perfect girls day in Denver!

athleisure

One of the things I love so much about Denver is how active everyone is! Being in workout clothes in Denver is even more normal than it is in Chicago! You guys know how I live in my workout gear whether I'm working out or not! We started our day with a long walk through the lower Highlands neighborhood, LoHi. We were planning on going to a morning yoga class... but we mayyyyy have been running a tad behind! All of our workout outfits are from Garbarini boutique (more about this gorgeous Denver store below). How cute are all of these leggings!?

After exploring LoHi for a while, we went back to Abby's and caught up!  After a good catch up sesh and some girl talk, we headed to Union Station in downtown Denver. You guys... Denver's Union Station is absolutely charming! Great restaurants, cute stores, coffee shops and even a fabulous flower shop!? It's seriously so cute!

For lunch we headed to Tupelo Honey right next to Union Station. They describe it as "a revival of Southern food" and the food was insane! The frosé and champagne on tap were not a bad addition either!!!

Tupelo Honey is so cute inside, the food was unreal (you have to try their shakshuka) and the staff was SO SO nice. We ended up sitting there for hours, eating way more than our allotted amount of daily food, drinking frosé (side note: this was my first time ever having frosé and... woah! are they all that good!?) and champagne. We passed on dessert because we seriously ate so much... but I will definitely be going back on my next Denver visit. Even though it was an overcast and chillier day,  I didn't mind because I LOVE this jacket (it's from Garbarini)! Plus, it's a nice change every once in a while in the summer time to not be sweating!

After lunch we popped by Cherry Creek and went into Garbarini (all of the clothes in this post are from this store)! It's a Denver classic and has been around for many years. The store is gorgeous with a unique selection of designer pieces. After some shopping, we popped in across the street at the most charming coffee shop called Aviano for a little pick me up. I had a chai, of course! Then, we headed back downtown for happy hour at Cooper Lounge which also happens to be in Union Station!

Located upstairs in Union  Station, Cooper Lounge is dreamy! It's the perfect spot for happy hour with girlfriends and a great date night spot too!

We decided to get dressed up for drinks because what's more fun than feeling fancy with your girlfriends, right!? These dresses were perfect for happy hour with girlfriends. They're all from Garbarini as well! I loved wearing this dress! A maxi with high slits made me feel so breezy and aren't you proud of me for wearing color and pattern? (At the same time too!)

Thanks so much to my girls, Abby and Lacey, for such a wonderful, fun day. I can't wait to head back to Denver and see you soon! If you haven't already, check out their amazing blogs!!! Abby's blog is Denver Darling and Lacey's is My Boring Closet! Thanks also to Garbarini for outfitting us all so beautifully for our Denver dream day together.  Do you have favorite spots in Denver?! Let me know, I'd love to check them out!
