How To: Sarong Two Ways

There are so many reasons to love vacation... One of those for me is definitely vacation dressing! I know I talked about it a bit in last week's post (HERE) but a tropical climate totally breaks me out of my colorless box and inspires me to dress colorfully. It's a fun time to take an unexpected approach to getting dressed, to take risks and to have fun with it! One of my favorite pieces here in Mexico was my Virginia Wolf wrap. There are numerous ways to wear it but here I styled it my two faves. One for the beach, and one for those beachy nights!

For the beach I paired the sarong over THIS lavender one piece for the perfect look to take me from the beach to lunch and back again. I loved the color combo and topped the look off with a statement necklace from Just The 2 Of Us. To tie the sarong like a skirt you simply hold two corners and tie them tight over one hip. I like to turn the knot to the side to show a little leg (gotta get as much sun as possible, right!?). Wearing your sarong like this is perfect over a one piece or a bikini!

For my second look with THIS sarong, I turned what was a beach coverup in the afternoon into a chic top for night.  Here, I paired it with white jeans and a metallic sandal to dress is up a bit. I'd also love this look with a skirt or shorts! I did wear this sarong tied like this during the day for a lunch paired with cutoffs and a top knot for a more casual vibe and loved that too! To tie your sarong like this you hold the top two corners, pull it across your back, pull the corners tight, cross in the front and tie behind your neck! I then pull open the front a tad so it lays better and you're good to go!
