Travel Style
One thing that's always a struggle when traveling, (especially with early morning flights) is looking cute but also feeling comfortable enough to pass out on the plane. Tomorrow, I'm off on a 6am (YIKES) flight with Apple Vacations & Amstar to Secrets Resort in Akumal, Mexico! So, it was my mission to create a look that was cute yet comfortable AND versatile enough to take me from the Chicago Winter to the hot sun at Secrets Resort!
First and most importantly, I got all packed ahead of time. This AWAY luggage is so perfect for travel whether you're a light packer or you're looking a little more like Olivia and I... The best part is that the carry on has a USB port so you can charge your devices on the go. Just charge it the night before you go and your golden! Both suitcases (ours are "The Bigger Carry-On" and "The Large"). They are lightweight, there's tons of space on the inside and great organization. Plus, they look damn good!
For my travel day look I went with an N. Philanthropy distressed "sweat suit" (read more about the brand and the amazing work they do HERE) It's so comfy but also tailored and fits great so you still look chic. I layered a tank underneath for when I land in the warmer climate. I paired the sweatsuit with a Madewell denim jacket and pinned the collar from another coat onto my denim jacket. This helps make the look much more versatile. The jacket looks much more wintery for getting on the plane in Chicago, but once we arrive in Mexico I can remove the collar and use the jacket as a layering piece for night time.
Last but not least, accessories! I went with my go-to white sneakers for comfort for the day of travel. For my bag, I'm taking THIS amazing tote from White Elephant Designs (a local Chicago company). I figured, I'm going to take a beach bag, so why take up more room in my suitcases when I can carry it on!? It adds a fun pop of color and is big enough to fit my camera, laptop and cosmetics... score!
