Transitioning your favorite Summer top into Fall!
It's hard to decide what I want more... warm weather to stick around or to finally be able to dress for Fall (it's my favorite season to dress for). I guess I have to meet in the middle because inevitably, Summer weather is going to get more and more sparse and it will be full on Fall jacket weather. Until that happens, I am going to continue to wear my favorite Summer top as much as I can!
A few months back, I found THIS gorgeous embroidered top from Goodnight Macaroon (if you gals don't know this site... now's the time)! I lived in it all Summer long. Most days pairing it with my favorite cut off jean shorts and lave up sandals. Once Fall rolled around I wasn't ready to put it away for the season yet. So, I decided to put together a transitional outfit perfect to take your favorite Summer tops into Fall. It's fairly simple, actually!
First, start with your favorite Summer top. (find THIS ONE HERE for under $75!!!) Pair it with your favorite cropped pant or jean (my favorite pair HERE). I'm sticking with a light wash for now to keep the outfit a tad more on the Summery side. For a shoe choice, swing an open toe as long as you can because it won't be much longer until all we know is un-pedicured toes, stuffed inside wool socks and boots (welcome to Midwest Winters, am I right)!? I opted for THIS chunky heeled mule, it's the perfect transition shoe. Not too Summery but not a full on Fall choice. For warmth I went with a more neutral colored leather jacket similar to THIS ONE. I would have also worn this with an olive green canvas jacket like THIS. For the final touch I wore THESE super fun mirrored sunnies. They're also from Goodnight Macaroon and they're on sale right now too! Find them HERE.
Moral of the story? Take these simple steps and enjoy your Summer clothes for as long as you can! Technically? Sure, it's Fall but who said you can't still enjoy your favorite embroidered blouse?
