Iphone Photo Diary: NYC
You don't ever need an excuse to visit New York City... But if you did, having a childhood friend's wedding to attend is a pretty good one! My mom and I took a 3 day trip to the big apple over the weekend to celebrate one of my oldest friend's wedding, catch up with some great friends and maybe, do a little bit of shopping. Despite two days of rain we had a great trip!
We stayed at the Wythe hotel in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and absolutely loved it. (The photo above was the view out of our room). This boutique hotel is quaint, lively and trendy. Our room had floor to ceiling windows and an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline. It's walking distance to all the hot spots in Williamsburg as well as the subway. It's a quick ride into Manhattan and super easy. I would highly recommend this hotel if you ever get a chance to stay there.
We wandered the streets of Williamsburg and ate at some amazing restaurants thanks to my friend, Hailey's recommendations. Our favorites were; Samurai Mama, a delicious asian place with a great atmosphere and Cafe Mogador, a Mediterranean cafe with a beautiful garden sitting area in back. We drank a few to many chai teas and took photos of lots of street art...
We had brunch with close family friends at another yummy place called Five leaves. The rest of the day we spent with two of my good friends, Hailey and Gabby (read her killer blog, Look Sharp Sconnie if you don't already) in Soho. Soho is a dream land for anyone who even remotely likes fashion... and something about it is just so charming. We had so much fun we forgot to eat all day... So of course had to have a 7pm snack (more like a first dinner) at Dean and Deluca before our 8:30pm dinner with my good friend Jordyn at the most amazing crepe place, Pates Et Traditions.
We had a great time at my friend, Shaina's beautiful wedding. Was a blast to see her and her family and be able to celebrate with them. Shaina looked beautiful and oh so happy... my feet were goners after a night of dancing. We had most of the day before our flight so we went up to midtown to visit some jewelry vendors (keep an eye out for new Just The 2 Of Us soon) and made a necessary trip to Barney's to shop the sale and see our friend, Tshaun!
With hours of delayed flights and an hour and a half drive home from Milwaukee we finally made it home safely at 3am yesterday morning! We had a great time in NYC but always love being home sweet home.
