3 Different Travel Looks to Stay Comfy and Chic at 30,000 Feet!

three travel looks

For some reason… getting dressed for travel days is always hard for me. I mean… harder than a normal day of getting dressed. I think it’s because I want to be comfortable yet still chic. I want to be warm enough, but not too warm and lastly, I want to wear things I will also wear on my trip to save room in the suitcase. It’s a lot of boxes to check for one outfit! But, you CAN have it all. I wanted to put together three inspo travel looks for ya’ll to help ease the process of getting dressed for your holiday travel days!

These are three comfy and chic outfit ideas for you as you’re strutting your stuff through the airport or driving cross-country in the car this holiday season! I’ll never forget hearing Tim Gunn speak when I was in high school. He mentioned that you never know who you’ll meet whether in the grocery store or in the airport. Maybe your future employer or future husband! So it’s important to always look (at least somewhat) put together. I’d like to think I have perfected the lazy chic look, and I’ll show you how to as well! Happy trails and safe travels, babes!

3 Different Travel Looks to Stay Comfy and Chic

Look 1: Athleisure
Going the athletic route for a travel day is always a good option! Especially, if you will be wearing workout clothes and being active at your destination. In my opinion, it’s important to mix your athleisure look with day to day basics. Personally, I don’t want to look like I’m going to workout class so covering up a little more than at the gym is a way to make the look more leisure than athletic. Pairing a cozy jacket that you will wear throughout your trip also saves that room in your suitcase! Pair your athleisure look with a rockin’ bag and you’re good to go! You can find all of my favorite travel bags in THIS BLOG POST.

Look 2: Chic
Here, I styled this look on the edgy side with a band tee. You can easily swap out the grungy tee for a simple short or long sleeve tee to make this look super versatile, more neutral and chic. I’m all for wearing a hat while traveling especially during long journeys. I take it off during the flight but 1. it looks super chic and 2. it covers any bad travel hair you may have accumulated in plane snoozes. A go-to of mine for a travel day is also a duster. This cashmere one from White + Warren is the COZIEST. It’s a splurge but is a staple I will wear a lot for years and years. Wearing a long duster immediately elevates any look. You feel so comfortable but look super chic. I would pair a long duster with a more fitted pant. I am wearing the faux leather Commando leggings which are my obsession. They’re comfy, look amazing and never lose their fit. I also love the idea of this look with a distressed or simple black denim or jogger. I’m always a fan of a statement bag as well. The Quilted Koala bags are EVERYTHING and make traveling a breeze. They have great organization and are super cute. They are also all customizable which is super fun!

Look 3: Sassy
My final outfit idea is a matching sweat set + a leather jacket. Before discovering N. Philanthropy 4 years ago, sweatpants in public for me was a big no-no. I was the only person in High School who refused to wear sweats (again, because of Tim Gunn). Needless to say, when I discovered the comfiest, chicest comfortable wear brand, N. Philanthropy, my life was changed. I am totally being serious here. Having a sweat suit that fits amazing, looks amazing and feels uber comfy is a game changer. A great, simple option for travel is a matching sweatsuit. Whether you want to go super sassy with a print like this or go for a simple black, both options have you covered for looking chic and feeling comfortable. I love to put a leather jacket and boot with my sweatsuit. It’s a super easy way to dress up the look just slightly. Lastly, the thing both my mom and I never travel without is a White + Warren travel wrap. They come in tons of colors and prints and are a triple threat. You can wear it as a scarf (like I am here), as a wrap around your shoulders AND as a blanket on the plane. BOOM BOOM BAM!
